The Owhango Volunteer Fire Brigade has supported the local Owhango and wider Ruapehu communities for many years and primarily attend to motor vehicle accidents, rail derailments and general residential or farm fires and emergencies.
The brigade supports National Park, Whakapapa, Turangi motor vehicle accidents on SH47, Manunui and Taumarunui and usually attends between 30 and 50 incidents in total each year.
